Sitting front row at Lanvin S/S20 with Isabelle Huppert

Following the success of his first collection, presented last February, Lanvin’s new artistic director Bruno Sialelli presented his Spring-Summer 2020 vision. Guests arrived in the rain and filtered into the gardens of the Quai Branly-Jacques Chirac museum, where a fake powder-pink wall, resembling a dollhouse, stood. Everyone was offered two essential accessories: a logo-marked clear umbrella, and headphones (the show took place without ambient music). Since Sialelli took over, the company has experienced a considerable energy boost and finally seems to be returning to the success of the Alber Elbaz era. The high-flying guest list—notably the great Isabelle Huppert—attests to this. Also sitting in the front row were actors Hafsia Herzi, Nicolas Maury, Félix Maritaud, and Zahia Dehar. In the international scene, it-boys Ji Ayi and Lin Yanjun turned up, while models Gigi and Bella Hadid and Vittoria Ceretti brought the “Slumberland” collection to life on the runway. The collection featured bold cuts, colorfully checkered patterns, and relatable “comic book” prints (“Oh dear! How did I wake up? I wish I could go to sleep again”).
