Inès-Olympe Mercadal and Jean-Paul Veison Marcelli Co-Host a Private Dinner at Castel
Is there a more beautiful setting than the Castel restaurant to convey the cosy, hushed atmosphere of a boudoir? During the winter edition of the Maison et Objet salon, Inès-Olympe Mercadal and interior architect and designer Jean-Paul Veison Marcelli unveiled several pieces from their “La philosophie du boudoir” furniture collection. The designer, renowned for her tableware collections, has been working on it with her accomplice over the last few months. The creations of these two aesthetes are part of a dialogue between the boudoir and the smoking room. The former, with its lacquered walls and bronze light fixtures, feels like a true haven. The latter, with its subdued lighting and precious materials, is a space designed for a specific ritual. This interweaving of feminine and masculine codes is at the heart of the collaboration between IOM and Jean-Paul Veison Marcelli. Together, they have imagined a collection that combines Baroque influences with the codes of Modernism and the 70’s, while being perfectly in tune with the standards and ethics of 2025. They envisioned a living space where you could indulge in refined conversation, which feels like a hybridisation of rock’n’roll parties, literature and arts and crafts.
During this delightful evening, we met Inès-Olympe Mercadal and Jean-Paul Veison Marcelli, alongside Catherine Baba, Thomas Delage, Sylvette Lepers, David Jacquelot, Vanessa Bellugeon and Pierre Gonalons.
