Toiletpaper x Scarosso: Surreal Style Takes Over Casa Toiletpaper
If you are familiar with Toiletpaper’s aesthetics, you already know what to expect: bold colours, surreal visuals, over-the-top irony, and a healthy dose of nonsense. Now imagine all that packed into a house–studio–artwork just steps away from the Politecnico di Milano. Add a touch of Italian craftsmanship by Scarosso, shake it all up with style, and you’ve got the recipe for an unforgettable night: the launch party of the boldest capsule collection of Design Week 2025.
The stars of the show? Penny loafers—a staple of the classic men’s wardrobe—completely turned on their heads through the eccentric vision of Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari. Joining the vibrant duo in the creative conception of the collab was Paula Cademartori, creative director of Scarosso’s women’s collections, who showed up in a striking all-red look.
Forget subtlety—bold graphics took center stage: hands holding lipsticks like weapons, horses with luscious manes, fiery red lips, and flowers sprouting from every corner. The shoes looked like they’d stepped straight out of a pop dream—or an off-the-wall glossy magazine—and strutted proudly through the rooms of Casa Toiletpaper, completely covered in the studio’s iconic wallpapers.
The evening was made even more lively with cocktails by Ferrari and Keglevich, and a DJ set by Ornella Bianca Bonante, queen of the console and retro-twisted beats. Between toasts and selfies inside polka-dot bathrooms, it was a steady flow of familiar faces: from Fabio Novembre to Malika Ayane, Milovan Farronato to Stefano Seletti, with appearances by Yuri Ancarani, Victoria Cabello, Geppi Cucciari, Marco Maccarini, Marcantonio… a true parade of creatives, artists, designers, and TV personalities, all drawn in by the magnetic—and slightly mad—pull of Toiletpaper’s universe.
More than a party, it felt like a happening—a reminder that the line between art, fashion, and irony isn’t just blurry: it was made to be kicked down. Preferably in a penny loafer.
