The New Astier de Villatte Boutique Hosts Eva Jospin’s Visionary Art

To celebrate the opening of its new Milanese boutique, located in the heart of the Brera District, Astier de Villatte, a multifaceted French company founded in 1996, presented a collection of ceramics created by visual artist and cardboard sculptor Eva Jospin. It includes three works, defined as mini architectural follies, sculpted in cardboard and then moulded in white ceramic. The first is a grotto topped by a Greek temple-style level, the second a temple with eight columns and the last a spectacular creation in the Baroque faux-bois style. These pieces are accompanied by a tableware line, including plates in five different sizes, teapots, bowls and mugs, all decorated with a print reproducing an interlacing of vines and branches. The collection created in collaboration with Eva Jospin is the protagonist of the store section dedicated to tableware, displayed on modular wooden shelves. The store is divided into two, with the first area dedicated to perfumes, incense, candles and ceramics. This is because more than just an artisanal ceramic workshop, Astier de Villatte is also a printing house, a travel and art publishing house and a perfume atelier, in collaboration with the best noses. The Brera boutique reflects the spirit of the Maison. For these reasons, the space has been completely refurbished, from the stone floor with its black cabochon diamonds and herringbone parquet to the bespoke furniture. The shop also includes a white-walled gallery overlooking the street, reserved for exhibiting artworks and, on occasion, furniture.
