Villa Noailles Reveals the Finalists of the 40th Edition of the Hyères Festival

Since its inception in 1986, the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories – Hyères has given young artists the chance to shine through a series of prizes. The 30 finalists of this anniversary edition were revealed during a wonderful evening at the Institut du Monde Arabe.

For the fashion category, the jury consists of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Julien Dossena, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, Christelle Kocher, Pelagia Kolotouros, Alexandre Mattiussi, Louis Gabriel Nouchi, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, Marine Serre and Grace Wales Bonner. Together, they selected ten young designers, each from a different country: Noah Almonte (Switzerland), Layla Al Tawaya (Poland), Lucas Emilio Brunner (Switzerland-Chile), Idaliina Friman (Finland), Xinyi He (China), Sofia Hermens Fernandez (Germany-Spain), Adrien Michel (France), Dennis Sanders (Allemagne), Vanessa Schreiner (Autriche) et Youssef Zogheib (Liban).

For this 40th edition, the jury of the photography prize is made up of Malick Bodian, Pierre Debusschere, Inez and Vinoodh, Tess Petronio, Luis Alberto Rodriguez, Paolo Roversi, Karim Sadli, Sølve Sundsbø and Tim Walker. They have chosen 10 promising talents: Yama Ndiaye, Laura Pelissier, Julie Joubert, Adam (Han-Chun) Lin, Mathilde Favel, Shubham Lodha, Noémie Ninot, Zen Lefort and Gabriel Mrabi. 

Finally, we also met the finalists for the accessory prize. This year’s jury includes Charlotte Chesnais, Stephanie D’Heygere, Pierre Hardy, Olivier Jault, Adriana Manso, Christian Louboutin, Priscilla Royer, Florence Tétier, Elie Top and Philip Treacy. They will be choosing their winner among the following designers: Raskin Goec, the duo Antoine and Julien Blanchard, Alix Caumont, Amaury Darras, Coline Gros, Luisa Olivera López, Julien Simar, Kays Masood, Alyssa Cartaut and Florentin Mathon. 

Directed by Willie Morlon, who won the Toulon Design Parade Grand Prix, and in collaboration with Marc Turlan, the evening was full of surprises, including a performance by Fràncois and The Atlas Mountain.
