The fourth edition of “a ppr oc he” opens in Paris
Since 2017, Emilia Genuardi and Elsa Janssen are working to take down the walls between photography and contemporary art. ‘a ppr oc he’, the salon they created that same year, selects artists for their singular approach to photography, with the aim of putting this medium on the map for contemporary art enthusiasts. Despite difficult times for culture (and cultural events especially), the fourth edition of the salon did open its doors on May 26th in Paris. For the first time, the solo shows were presented in three participating galleries: Galerie Papillon, Galerie Bertrand Grimont and Christian Berst Art Brut. The three galleries hosted the seventeen solo shows dedicated this year to unique pieces and curated with the help of art critic Léa Chauvel-Lévy and art advisor Tristan Lund. Whether they consider themselves purely as photographers or not, each of these artists bring out their own definition of what photography is. For the first time, ‘a ppr oc he’ creates a dialogue between photography and music with Edouard Taufenbach and Régis Campo, winners of the 2020 Prix Swiss Life à 4 mains, who present their work, ‘Le Bleu du Ciel’. The salon will run until May 30th.
