Hangar Y Celebrates its Second Anniversary with a New Exhibition Trail

Hangar Y, Meudon

Spanning a total area of 10 hectares, the park of Hangar Y has a long history. Designed by André Le Nôtre during the 17th century, it was once part of the gardens of the Château de Meudon. To this day, it provides a peaceful setting and now features poetic and unique artworks which harmoniously blend in with the natural ecosystems and history of Hangar Y.

Featuring some 25 contemporary works, a new exhibition trail has been designed to encourage interaction with the public. Bringing together art and nature, it allows visitors to experience the beauty of the park through the perspective of artists. Visitors will be able to discover Pablo Reinoso’s enchanted bench, Mark Dion’s cabinet of curiosities, Subodh Gupta’s strange house made up of hundreds of saucepans, as well as exceptional architectural and design works by Odile Decq and Kengo Kuma. Poetic and enchanting, the artworks appeal to our imagination thanks to their fantastical characteristics.

Last but not least, an emerging artist will be invited every year to engage in a dialogue with these great names in contemporary art. This year, Pauline Tralongo has been chosen to present her large ladders, thought of as a poetic soaring towards the sky.

At the inauguration of this new exhibition trail, we met Odile Decq, Christian Lapie, Arik Levy, Lionel Sabatté, Federica Sala, Mehdi Kerkouche, ORLAN, Bastien Pourtout and Edouard Taufenbach.
