Vernissage “As I run, Happiness comes closer”

“As I run and run, happiness comes closer”: Laurent Dumas’ collection, seen by Jérôme Sans

Presented for the first time, Laurent Dumas’ collection takes up an ephemeral space in the heart of the Marais: the Hotel Beaubrun, an exceptional 17th century mansion house and headquarters of EMERIGE. Invited to choose works from the collection, Jérôme Sans has imagined an exhibition that presents itself as the first lines of a possible history written with the artists. A crossing of heterogeneous works that respond, echo or collide.

The exhibition unveils a selection of works by French and international artists, which represent key moments in Laurent Dumas’ artistic journey. In this exchange between the collector, the curator and the artists, each discovery will bring another, from work to work, the contours of a constant observation of contemporary creation in recent years, associated with an intimate vision of art on the part of the creator and the collector. A collection like a work is an infinite series of possible interpretations. This exhibition is the beginning of a series of invitations to read and reread Laurent Dumas’ collection. To be continued.
