rhinoceros Gallery Invites Galerie Nathalie Obadia to Rome to Explore “Œuvres Choisies”

This is the second chapter of the collaboration between rhinoceros Gallery, the Roman space dedicated to contemporary arts directed by Alessia Caruso Fendi, and the French Galerie Nathalie Obadia. This time, the exhibition Œuvres choisies lights up the spaces designed by Alda Fendi and Jean Nouvel. The super-collective show gathers works by eleven international artists (from David Reed to Joris van de Moortel, including Sarkis and Fiona Rae) represented by the Parisian gallery, renowned for its ability to explore multiple forms of expression using the most experimental and innovative languages.

At the opening of the gallery, located in the heart of the capital between the Foro Boario and the Circo Massimo, many figures from the Italian and international art and culture scene attended the other evening. Say Who captured portraits of Alessia Caruso Fendi, Nathalie Obadia, and others, including Alda Fendi, Giovanna Caruso Fendi, Veronica Siciliani Fendi, Paola Fendi, Bartolomeo Pietromarchi, Antonio Valentino, Maria Pia Ruspoli, Aurelio Trombetta, Jacopo Astarita, Andrea Pittorino, and Alberto Di Fabio.

Guests had the opportunity to admire an exhibition project constructed like a mosaic, composed of photographs, paintings, sculptures, and installations from every corner of the globe. The exhibition’s title plays on the dual meaning of the French word œuvre (work), encompassing both the visual arts and the world of music. The featured artists, in fact, approached the exhibition as if moving within a musical composition. Among them, Valérie Belin explores the delicate boundary between the natural and the artificial, where hyperrealistic aesthetics engage in dialogue with dreamlike suggestions. Similarly, Fabrice Hyber, Golden Lion winner at the Venice Biennale in 1997, guides visitors into his material world, where he reflects on the human condition with a heavy dose of irony.

Œuvres choisies aligns with the vision and promise of rhinoceros Gallery,” explained Alessia Caruso Fendi. “Here, different disciplines blend through the most varied expressive languages, transforming this exhibition into a fascinating crossroads of interferences that draw from art and culture in the broadest sense.”
