Thilo Heinzmann, Chiho Aoshima and Gabriel de la Mora Exhibited at Perrotin

Perrotin Paris has just unveiled three new exhibitions, including What do you want me to bring you, I am going to town, by German artist Thilo Heinzmann. For his third exhibition at the gallery, the artist presents a series of paintings made with pure pigments, as well as works from his Aicmo series, made from industrial aluminium sheets that he uses like paints. Thilo Heinzmann creates a unique abstract language, which he uses to articulate philosophical notions imbued with emotion.

Running parallel there’s Emptinesses, Chiho Aoshima’s fourth solo show at the Parisian gallery. Her works are a blend of traditional Japanese references, manga memorabilia and futuristic projections. Through these pieces, which range from ceramics, watercolours and acrylics on canvas, the artist explores the boundaries between reality and fantasy.

Last but not least, Perrotin unveils Élan Vital, the third exhibition by Gabriel de la Mora at the gallery. The Mexican artist unveils two new series: one made of golden obsidian, a volcanic stone, and the other made of butterfly wings. Put into dialogue, these series make us reflect on the nature of life and the “élan vital”, a concept introduced by Henri Bergson at the beginning of the 20th century to describe a force inherent to all living beings.

During the opening, we caught a glimpse of the artists Gabriel de la Mora, Chiho Aoshima, Takashi Murakami, Johan Creten, Laurent Grasso, Iván Argote, Jean-Marie Appriou, and Christiane Pooley.

The evening was honoured by the Italicus and Perrier Jouët Maisons.
