Sarah Chiche wins the 2019 Prix de la Closerie des Lilas
Created in 2007, the Prix de la Closerie des Lilas aims to highlight women in literature. Odile d’Oultremont won the prize last year; this year, Sarah Chiche was chosen for “Les Enténébrés.” This year’s jury was composed of Jeanne Damas, Françoise Fabian, Pauline Lefèvre and chaired by Leïla Slimani (who will permanently join the board, composed of Emmanuelle de Boysson, Adélaïde de Clermont-Tonnerre, Stéphanie Janicot, Jessica Nelson, Tatiana de Rosnay and Carole Chrétiennot). There was also an award for the female personality of the year, which Andréa Bescond won, getting the César for the best adaptation in 2019. The event brought together the elite of the Parisian literary and cultural spheres, including Amélie Nothomb, who was president of the 2018 edition of the prize. Sarah Chiche will be the guest of the Closerie des Lilas all year and in the meantime received a Montblanc pen, Muses Marilyn Monroe Special Edition Pearl.
