Trying to define Tomás Saraceno’s work would mean looking beyond the earthly concepts to which the majority of us is accustomed. Described on the Palais de Tokyo website as an artist working “on and beyond the planet Earth”, this Argentinean with a double degree in art and architecture is considered to be one of the major artists of his generation. On the eve of the FIAC kick off, Palais de Tokyo inaugurated their carte blanche to Saraceno. The artist presents ON AIR, a true ecosystem that invites the visitor onto a poetic, metaphysical journey and encourages everyone to rethink our relationship to the world. Many specialists and art professionals came to discover the exhibition, created with the help of curator Rebecca Lamarche-Vadel, and to dive in the immersive installation of the Argentine artist. A carte blanche that aims to be collaborative: Saraceno invited scientific institutions, musical research groups and even “non-human animals” to participate in this interdisciplinary project, to be discovered until 6 January next.
