For the very first edition – event alert! Do Disturb, the Palais de Tokyo has put the small dishes in the giants by inviting the MoMA PS1 (New York), the Tate Modern (London), the Matadero Madrid, the Centre National des arts plastiques (CNAP, Paris), the 49 Nord 6 Est du Frac Lorraine (Metz, France) and even the Berghain (Berlin) to participate in the programming of this Festival of a new kind.
In a Palais de Tokyo in effervescence, DO DISTURB wanted to be creative, vibrant and impertinent. Successful bet: 36 hours of non-stop discovery and celebration, including two nights proposed by Julie Tippex and the sacrosanct Berghain von Berlin, who signed there his first off-walls – event alert bis!
More globally, DO DISTURB aims to surprise and decompartmentalize artistic disciplines by pushing their limits, at the crossroads of dance, music, video and performance, by mixing new creations, unpublished pieces in France as well as performances that cannot be ignored, with the walk as a guiding thread.
In all, nearly 70 artists took possession of the premises, drawing an original route on several levels. Conductor of this great multi-function mass: Vittoria Matarrese, in charge of cultural programming and special projects at the Palais de Tokyo. Review of the opening.
