Yohji Yamamoto’s Latest Ode to Wabi-Sabi

Here is one of the must-attend events on our Fashion Week agenda. On Friday evening, Yohji Yamamoto unveiled his Spring-Summer 2024 collection at the salons of the Hôtel de Ville, right in the heart of the French capital. Those fortunate to attend, had the honour of bearing witness to the latest chef-d’œuvre by the Japanese couturier. As the undisputed master of the wabi-sabi aesthetic philosophy – “wabi” celebrating the beauty of simplicity and “sabi” to the marks of time’s passage – Yamamoto celebrated the beauty of imperfection and the ephemeral through his delicate creations. The looks were almost entirely black, sparkled with sporadic dashes of white in the form of polka dots, embodying his sensitive take on minimal, avant-garde and deconstructive fashion.

Among the celebrities on the front row, we caught a glimpse of Akimoto Kozue, Kiwi Lee Han, Colm Dilane and many others.
