The Secret Gardens of Yves Saint Laurent at the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris

Nature and the flora are an infinite source of inspiration for designers, who often transform catwalks into magnificent bouquets of flowery fabrics. Yves Saint Laurent was certainly no exception, revealing a lifelong passion for nature. Inspired by the Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, which he purchased with his partner Pierre Bergé in 1980, and by his early days at Christian Dior, Saint Laurent incorporated embroidery and floral prints into iconic creations that have marked the history of haute couture.

Imagined by Olivier Saillard and Gaël Mamine, the exhibition “Les Fleurs d’Yves Saint Laurent” is the second part of a unique collaboration between the Parisian museum and the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Marrakech. Organized into 4 themes, the dresses and other creations are displayed alongside the works of Sam Falls, whose brightly colored, flowery paintings blend well with the art of Saint Laurent. This delicate, poetic exhibition pays tribute to the designer’s legacy, which has transcended time.

At the opening of this ground-breaking exhibition, we had the pleasure of meeting Elsa Janssen, Ségolène Royal, Chris Dercon, Laurent Le Bon, Pattie Boyd, Marc Donnadieu, Diane Pernet, Arielle Dombasle, Sarah Andelman and many others.
