“Chaillot Expérience” #2 Highlights Algerian Creation
The Algerian art scene and its diaspora are among the most innovative movements across the Mediterranean. This is reflected on an international scale in all media, from literature to cinema, visual arts, music, dance and fashion. The Algerian voice is present in all these disciplines, expressing multiple narratives that interweave memories to create an assertive imaginary world. In light of this, Nacera Belaza and Rachid Ouramdane (President-Director of Chaillot – Théâtre national de la Danse) have chosen artists and projects that symbolise the vitality of Algeria’s contemporary dance scene. The pair also invited Kamel Daoud and other artists such as Sofia Djama and Allia Louiza Belamri to join them in conversation during a series of debates and workshops.
Last Saturday, we came to discover this richness at Chaillot Expérience #2, where we met Allia Louiza Belamri, Hadjar Benmansour, Younes Boucif, Kamel Daoud, Fonky Foued, Sofia Djama, Nime, TIF, Danyl, Hania Zazoua and many other remarkable artists and guests.
For those of you who are more curious, you can find the interview with Rachid Ouramdame here, and be sure to tune in on December 8th and 9th for the ‘Chaillot Expérience‘ Transatlantique, the third instalment of the nine-part season at Chaillot-Théâtre national de la Danse.
