The Exclusive Dinner at Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo’s Home Lights Up Torino’s Art Week
An event within an event: the reception and dinner at the home of Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, who also heads the Foundation for Modern and Contemporary Art CRT, has become one of the highlights of Torino’s Art Week during Artissima. The splendid residence, virtually a private contemporary art museum, welcomed some of the most prominent figures from the international art world: artists, curators, and collectors from across Europe. Wandering around its magnificent hall, dining room, video room, and spacious lower floor, we met the director of the Palazzo Strozzi Foundation, Arturo Galansino, Polish artist Paulina Olowska, the director of the Castello di Rivoli, Francesco Manacorda, Belgian collector Alain Servais, the head of strategic initiatives at LUMA in Arles, Simon Castets, curators Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev and Hans Ulrich Obrist, the director of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía in Madrid, Manuel Segade Lodeiro, the director of the Museum MMK für Moderne Kunst in Frankfurt, Susanne Pfeffer, the president of the Andy Warhol Foundation, Joel Wachs, Italian architect Carlo Ratti, and artists Paulina Olowska, Mark Manders, and Stefanie Heinze, to name but a few.
The cocktail and dinner traditionally celebrate the opening of the Foundation’s new exhibitions on Via Modane: “Silent Studio” by Mark Manders, which explores the relationships between language, sculpture, and fiction; “Your Mouth Come Second” by Stefanie Heinze, which delves into themes like tenderness and vulnerability, relationships, and the integration of ancient and urban spirituality; and “Hearsay” by Bekhbaatar Enkthur, featuring a series of sculptures dedicated to common symbols of superstition and luck.
