“Anima” by Laurent Grasso For Perrotin’s Paris + Dinner
The launching of the first edition of Paris + Art Basel in Paris was the perfect occasion for gallery owner Emmanuel Perrotin to introduce Laurent Grasso’s new installation « Anima ». To this end, a few artists and friends were invited at Collège des Bernardins, where a beautiful dinner was set up. The exhibition is part of a continuum, as the institution and the artist have already been engaged in a dialogue for several years. The artist was this time, invited to fully invest the premises with a new series of creations. After a glass of Perrier Jouet or Balvenie and surrounded by Pierre Augustin Rose’s marvellous furniture, the guests moved on to conversation – having the chance to discuss with artists like JR, Ivan Argote, Sophie Calle, Bernar Venet, and Jean-Michel Othoniel. We met former minister Manuel Valls, art critic Jerôme Sans, Anne Racine, and Johan Creten, lulled by a widely applauded performance by Juliette Armanet.
