Weinsanto Opens Paris Fashion Week with Passion

Highly praised by the Parisian crowd and acclaimed by major designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier and Adrien Joffre, Victor Weisanto opened Paris Fashion Week with a show at the much-coveted Club Carbone.

For his second collection, the young designer chose a refined and discreet décor that immediately drew our attention to the looks onstage, thus enhancing the garments. The show began with a jittery electro beat, which introduced the exuberant first look: a transparent umbrella-shaped cape, dashed with sparkling raindrops dazzling the eye. A series of silhouettes ensued, each surpassing the previous in singularity, yet all embodying the designer’s vision. Onstage, more than models, we saw amused muses, they danced, laughed, and acted. It was a fashion show where vibrant colours and miscellany dominated, speaking for the inclusivity that Victor Weinsanto has been advocating since the very beginning.

True to its commitment to the LGBTQ+ community, Weinsanto took up the opportunity to showcase his unwavering support for the Drag Queen family by inviting the iconic Nicky Doll to the catwalk. Pin-up silhouettes, modern-day working girls and queens of the night followed one another in an eclectic, daring style that reflected the designer’s unapologetic vision of womanhood. The designer’s latest collection also featured a new symbol, a discreet metallic W, which seems about to become the emblem of his eponymous brand. Not to mention, the superb corsetry, which fits and enhances every curve of the female silhouette…

The show was attentively followed by  Pierre et Gilles, Keiona, Piche, Kam Hugh, Diane Pernet, but also Kristen Bateman, Lise Pierron, Loic Prigent and Flora Coquerel. Fashion Week is off to a flying start, and is sure to be refreshing!
