Vernissage Ann Veronica Janssens

For her first solo exhibition at the Kamel Mennour gallery, the Belgian artist Ann Veronica Janssens punctuates the space with works that play with moving states of matter, various shades of colour and the intensity of light.

The first elements of the sensory path are luminous and geometrical masses placed on the ground: an IPE metal beam, which seems to be one with the ground, two volumes of glass and a cubic aquarium.

The last stage of the journey is this piece of coloured fog in which a feeling of weightlessness makes the immersion even more bewitching. Colour is the only indication given to us to find our way in this artificial fog that gives us the disturbing experience of evolving in a paradoxical space that is both dense and light, closed and infinite.
