Celebrating Art From the Terrace of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection greeted the opening of the 60th International Art Exhibition of Venice with a special double appointment. First, a morning press breakfast involving numerous international journalists where the guidelines and programs of the various venues of the American museum institution were illustrated. Then, an elegant evening cocktail party, which involved many protagonists of the contemporary art scene.

In both cases, the location was the spectacular panoramic terrace of Palazzo Venier dei Leoni. The double rendez-vous celebrated, on the one hand, the recent exhibition “Jean Cocteau: The Juggler’s Revenge,” the most important Italian retrospective ever dedicated to the French master made possible thanks to the support of Cartier, and on the other hand, offered the opportunity to meet Karole P. B. Vail, director of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and Mariët Westermann, recently appointed director of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation in New York.

A special double event that allowed industry professionals to exchange ideas and explore the state of health of modern creativity. Among those present, in addition to the aforementioned directors, were Stephanie Rosenthal, the new project director of Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Wendy Fisher, president of the board of trustees of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, entrepreneur Francesca Lavazza, Carolina Cucinelli, daughter of Brunello Cucinelli, philanthropist and artist Joseph Awuah-Darko, actress Renee Xu, managing director of the Fondation Cartier, Chris Dercon, curator Naomi Beckwith, collector Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo accompanied by her husband Agostino Re Rebaudengo, and artist Loris Cecchini.
