Galleria d’Arte Maggiore Puts Gio Ponti in The Spotlight For the Inauguration of Their New Venue in Paris

On Thursday, April 24th, the Galleria d’Arte Maggiore opened their new venue with an exhibit on Gio Ponti and his vision about the ideal Italian home.

Italian architect and designer Gio Ponti dedicated his life to creating works that would honor the art of living of his country. The show includes pieces from the interior of the Planchart Villa, made by artists that Ponti hold in high regard, such as Giorgio Morandi, Massimo Campigli and Fausto Melotti. We can also find works on paper by Gio Ponti himself, his daughter Lisa Ponti and his grandson Salvatore Licitra.

The Galleria d’Arte Maggiore offers a bright and welcoming new space, just like Ponti’s ideal vision of the Italian home, which should harmoniously unify art, architecture and design.

Among those present were Alessia Calarota, Fabrizia Caracciolo, David Textler, Virginia Valsecchi, Margherita Ruffo di Calabria, Gian Luca Kenzo Chiavari, Claudine Drai, Arnaud Cabri-Wiltzer, Vincent Darré, Jean-Christophe Claude, Yorgo Tloupas, Hubert Barrère…
