Vernissage Alaïa and reopening of the Galliera Palace

Master of elegance, surgical cuts and the work of noble materials, Azzedine Alaïa enthroned the intramuros exhibitions of the Galleria Palace, which reopened its neoclassical doors after four years of work and exhibitions outside the walls. At the invitation of Olivier Saillard, director of the institution and great friend of the designer: 70 iconic dresses, without which today’s fashion would not be what it is, are presented in the purest purity on invisible structures, in the rooms of the Palais but also opposite, at the Musée d’art moderne de la Ville de Paris. A striking retrospective of timelessness.

On one side, Azzedine Alaïa, great genius of fashion small in size, erected in the pantheon of great couturiers when he upset the codes in the 80’s, from his studio as from the Palace, passing by his illustrious kitchen, where he received friends and stars of the milieu in the greatest simplicity. On the other hand: Olivier Saillard, just as brilliant in his erudition and his way of bringing his vision of fashion to the eyes of the general public as to the actors who shape it. As he sums it up very well: “There is one before and one after Alaïa. We can’t do without it.”

And it seems that the two friends have a lot of friends, because the opening night saw all that fashion has to offer: designers, photographers, editors, muses, top models, and others. Without a doubt the social event of Parisian fashion week. The legend can live.
