The Sexy Uniforms Of Elisabetta Franchi’s Gossip Girls
For the autumn winter 2024 collection Elisabetta Franchi decides to interpret in her own way a universe apparently light years away from the glamor that has always characterized her style. The inspiration comes from English college uniforms and, above all, from the way in which Anglo-Saxon students mix them with the rest of their wardrobe. This sexy preppy style is interpreted by the designer through references to the Tomboy aesthetics, in simple terms fresh-faced, and with small femininity additions that recall Serena and Blair, the heroines of Gossip Girl, the cult series from the late 2000s set in the Upper East Side of New York, a reference point for college styling. Pleated micro skirts, maxi cardigans and V-neck pullovers worn as if they were mini dresses, they all took turns on the catwalk, set up like the library of an ancient English university. The men’s shirts and jackets are the real protagonists of the collection, together with the long tweed coats, while everything is naturally decorated with embroidered coats of arms and blazons. Among those enjoying the show from the front row you could spot Ella Blue Travolta, Rocio Camacho, Laura Chiatti and many others.
