Fondation d’entreprise Ricard welcomes Tarik Kiswanson’s “narrative machine”
To all lovers of contemporary art and especially those sensitive to the young emerging art scene, Tarik Kiswanson’s name and work are no strangers. Born in Sweden to Jordanian parents, Tarik Kiswanson, a young man in his thirties, graduated with honors from the Central Saint Martins in London and the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and quickly made his mark on the Parisian and international artistic scene. At Fondation d’entreprise Ricard from March 14, he signs his first institutional solo exhibition in France on a proposal by curator Jesi Khadivi. At Colette Barbier’s invitation, Tarik Kiswanson answers with “Come, come, come of age”, a “narrative machine” between sound installation and sculpture that questions the human condition and the notion of identity through the two extremes of birth and death. To the sound of poems pronounced by the artist and a child, the visitor leans over what looks like neonatal incubators housing objects and labyrinths, still the ones of the artist are made of a grey metal representative of his minimalist approach. This is a new series of sculptures created especially for the exhibition, the title of which sounds like an affirmation of a deliberately challenged maturity. To see until April 21st.
