The Immaterial Auction

On Monday evening, the Palais de Tokyo raised the stakes, and not just any auction: for a midnight Ferrari ride with Bertrand Lavier, for a French correction by Jean-Paul Goude, or for a talk on Marcel Duchamp with Japanese artist Hiroshi Sugimoto… At the beginning of the FIAC’s big annual meeting, the Palais de Tokyo thought about its finances. How to join the useful – to finance future exhibitions and artistic programs – and the pleasant – to gather and give pleasure? By selling a series of immaterial and unique prizes, supported by the artists who have given, give, and will give the institution its letters of nobility. 90,000 euros collected in a few hammer blows: not bad, Master Hazelton!
