The Fiminco Foundation opens its creative laboratory for a weekend

Famous property developer, Groupe Fiminco (chaired by Gérald Azancot) is also a committed patron of classical music. A long-time supporter of the Orchestre de Paris, the group revealed, over a weekend, its large-scale project encouraging contemporary creation and directed by Joachim Pflieger: the Fiminco Foundation.

Nestled in the former Sanofi laboratories in Romainville, this multifaceted art centre gives new life to the abandoned building through an ephemeral exhibition, “Point Triple de la matière”, dedicated to launching a rich artistic programme scheduled to begin in 2018. Bringing together the works of artists such as Mikala Dwyer and Romain Kronenberg in a space of over 4,000m2, and under the artistic direction of Matthieu Lelièvre, the exhibition draws on the industrial essence of the place to deliver different readings of issues related to environmental transformations.

A future residence for artists from all over the world, the Fiminco Foundation will also offer a rich programme of exhibitions and complete infrastructures including several exhibition spaces, studios, collective workshops and an auditorium. Laurent Müller, Hélène Lacharmoise and numerous art professionals came to immerse themselves in the authenticity of the place, soberly scenographed by Freaks Freearchitects, before the renovation work began.
