The experimental Sigmar Polke exhibits at the Suzanne Tarasieve Gallery
Ultra Polke, the subversive magician is the new exhibition proposed by the Suzanne Tarasieve gallery until December 30th. Entirely dedicated to the pictorial work of Sigmar Polke, one of the greatest contemporary German artists who died in 2010, the exhibition shows the work, between figuration and abstraction, of the one who received the Golden Lion at the 42nd Venice Biennale in 1986 and to whom we owe the artistic movement of “Capitalist Realism”. If we also remember that the artist was recently the subject of considerable retrospectives at MoMA, Tate Modern or Palazzo Grassi, it is useless to stress to what extent the exhibition at the Suzanne Tarasieve Gallery is part of the order of the event. And for good reason, the gallery owner’s collectors and friends, including art critic Jeanette Zwingenberger (who wrote the exhibition text), were present in large numbers to immerse themselves in the multiform and experimental work of this artist known for his obsession with points.
