“The Art of Aperitivo”: A Tribute to Milanese Creativity at Casa Brera

Casa Brera, Milan

Last Tuesday night, in a softly lit and elegant atmosphere, Milanese Luxury Collection Hotel Casa Brera presented “The Art of Aperitivo – Dialogues on Art“, a series of five events designed to explore Milan’s art scene from a fresh perspective. This journey through art, history, and culture will bring some of the city’s most influential figures to the heart of Brera until May 20th.

Curated by Nicola Ricciardi, artistic director of miart, the project aims to highlight the deep connection between the neighbourhood and its creative fabric, revealing that behind every artwork, there are not just artists but also gallerists, curators, critics, and collectors. Last night’s event welcomed various representatives from the art, design, and cultural worlds. Among them, in addition to Giuseppe Losciale, General Manager of Casa Brera, and Ricciardi, were Paolo Casati, Csaba dalla Zorza, Margaux Lombard de Huertas, Fabio Attanasio, Massimiliano Tonelli, Angelo Petrocelli, and Gala Rotelli.

Let’s take a look at the event schedule. The first appointment is set for Tuesday, March 4, with Cristiano De Lorenzo, Managing Director of Christie’s Italy, hosted in the enchanting Palazzo Clerici, renowned for its extraordinary Tiepolo frescoes. On March 25, Elena Bonanno di Linguaglossa will discuss the opening of Thaddaeus Ropac’s Italian headquarters at Palazzo Belgioioso, inaugurated with a major exhibition on Robert Rauschenberg.

On April 15, Giovanni Morale, Deputy Director of Gallerie d’Italia, will unveil the Intesa Sanpaolo collection. On May 6, the spotlight will be on Massimo Giorgetti, the creative mind behind MSGM and a passionate collector. Finally, on May 20, the artist Giovanna Silva will take center stage, presenting her work exhibited at Palazzo Citterio as part of the newly enhanced Pinacoteca di Brera experience.

All rendezvous will take place on Tuesdays at 7 PM in the cosy setting of Casa Brera Living. Adding to the allure of The Art of Living project is a signature drink list by Luca Ardito, featuring 12 cocktails that capture the essence of Milan through unexpected and surprising flavours. The must-tries? Il Bacio, a reimagined version of the Negroni with Campari, Ming River Baijiu Sesame Oil, and Fortified Blended; and Lo Sciura, crafted with Hendrick’s Grand Cabaret Gin, Amaro Santoni, Prosecco, Vanilla and Citrus Sherbet.
