While Art Paris Art Fair is in full swing at the Grand Palais and Seydou Keïta exhibits his photos made in Bamako in national galleries, the Studio des Acacias by Mazarine has chosen to honour Guy Bourdin in a breathtaking retrospective, imagined in three stages.
The Studio des Acacias, frequented by the master himself in his time, displays all the genius of the photographer with a gallery of his most famous portraits, carried by the History of fashion photography without ever taking a wrinkle. Upstairs, we find another section of compositions borrowed from surrealism with the series’walking legs’, commissioned by the shoe maker Charles Jourdan in the late 60s. Finally, the exhibition reveals”A portrait of Paris”, a unique experimental work, much more confidential, in the form of a series of kraft envelopes in which Bourdin has slipped a negative and his black and white print reframed. A veritable visual chronicle of post-war Paris that brilliantly testifies to the polymorphous work of this great image genius.
Yesterday evening, the Reiffers couple, as usual, took care of the opening, which saw fashion and show under its 17th arrondissement glass roof. Super chic and informative. Review.
