Mamma Andersson Unveils Her First Solo Exhibition in Paris at Zwirner Gallery

While she has already exhibited at the New York space of the gallery on several occasions, this was a first for Mamma Andersson. On Monday 17 October, the Swedish artist opened her very first solo show in the French capital at the David Zwirner Gallery. Entitled ‘Adieu Maria Magdalena’, the exhibition presents a series of pieces that epitomise the essence of the artist’s work, whose metaphorical and psychological dimension recalls 19th-century Romanticism, only with a contemporary twist. Following the vernissage at the gallery, located at 108 rue Vieille du Temple, guests headed to the Bourse de Commerce for a celebratory dinner. We met Charlotte Bensimon, Marianna Levinsen, Paul Hameline, Marc Donnadieu, Chris Dercon, Anael Pigeat, Charles Carmignac, Olivia de Smedt, and Denise Vilgrain.
