Urban Exploration by Études for its Spring-Summer 2024 Show

Following its exploration of the Parisian peripheral ring road in 2022, Études returns to the inner city, more precisely up on the roof of a parking space in the 18th arrondissement. On Tuesday 20, the designer trio made its comeback with a dark, sleek collection evoking the gloomy hues of urban nightlife.

Inspired by the concept of twilight, Aurélien Arbet, Jérémie Égry and José Lamali chose a Parisian rooftop to unveil “Crépuscule”, a collection made of severe silhouettes evocative of the Berlin lifestyle. The looks balance out structured cuts with flimsy, almost airy ensembles, distilling a distinct sense of freedom and adrenaline.

Bathed in the dim lights of dawn, the looks disclosed the reminiscence of a lavish night and bring a fresh air of emancipation. Seated on a front row arranged on the raw asphalt floor and to the beat of an electronic soundtrack by The Hacker, guests attended a parade of grunge-looking models dressed in ripped jeans, and men in oversized suits that left their torsos exposed. Harnesses, nylon jumpsuits, XXL bombers and tactical vests complete a collection that mixes up codes from the gabber culture of the early 90s. In terms of accessories, this season brought ear jewellery and sautoirs, brightening up monochrome looks with silver elements.

True to its DNA, the label presented a show displaying its rebellious spirit, once again revisiting men’s wardrobes with masterful skill. The collection unveiled iconic pieces that herald the return of a trashy, rebellious era!
