“Les Militantes”, the New Exhibition by Guerlain

Marking the 15th anniversary of its yearly exhibitions, the Maison Guerlain inaugurated “Les Militantes” on October 18. As part of the “Bee Art by Guerlain” initiative, and in partnership with Paris + Art Basel, the exhibition embodies the House’s engagement with women, environment, and of course, art.

“Les Militantes” gathers the works of 21 female artists committed, through their practices, to speaking up for social causes. They are either established figures like Louise Bourgeois or Niki de Saint Phalle or emerging ones like Min Zhang. A strong selection of works curated by Caroline Messensee and Ann Caroline Prazan that is now hosted at the emblematic building of the House in the Champs-Elysées.

After the success of the past editions and with the promising line-up of artists exhibited, the opening was a long-awaited event for no one to miss. To the beat of Matild Musique, we caught a glimpse of the House’s leading figures such as CEO Véronique Courtois, Cécile Lochard, Hélène Freyss or Ann Caroline Prazan, and of course some of the artists like Eléa-Jeanne Schmitter or Jeanne Susplugas among many others….
