Les Bains Guerbois Introduces Raku, a New Eau de Parfum

On April 6, Les Bains Guerbois launched its twelfth perfume, RAKU, at its Parisian address at 7 rue du Bourg l’Abbé. This new olfactory opus pays homage to the Japanese faience that gives its name, used by designer Tristan Auer in 2015 to create the tables in the rooms and the club bar of the Hotel Les Bains Paris.

Roxo’s chef Bruno Grossi had designed for this occasion a dinner menu around the theme of perfume ingredients, a scented culinary experience that was followed by a Raku calligraphy workshop. The evening then moved on to the Club, where guests could taste a special house cocktail, likewise inspired by the scent created by the mixologists of Les Bains Guerbois.

Jean-Pierre Marois, owner of Les Bains Guerbois, asked perfumer Jérôme Épinette to transcribe the most intimate imaginary trails of raku into perfume. Lemon, black pepper, fig, clary sage, Texas cedar and musk white. An Eau de Parfum that blends complex facets and fresh, powerful notes.

During the launch evening party, we crossed paths with the perfumer Jérôme Epinette, who flew in from New York to attend the dinner, Michaël Cohen, Marc Lambron, Antoine de Maximy, Karen Ann, Djanis Bouzyani, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Arthur Avellano and Camille Esteban among other friends of the Maison.

Les Bains Guerbois, a spa founded by François Auguste Guerbois, opened its doors in 1885 and immediately became the Parisian temple of well-being and beauty. In 1978, the place became exclusively Les Bains Douches, one of the most famous nightclubs in the world. In 2015, the establishment was transformed into an alternative 5 stars boutique hotel, Les Bains Paris, while reviving the club and the Spa. The following year in 2016, Les Bains Guerbois is resurrected and celebrates this iconic Parisian address in the form of a fragrance.
