Les Amis du Jeu de Paume’s 2017 dinner is a full sensory experience

As every year for the past six years, the Friends of the Jeu de Paume dinner kicked off Paris Photo. Before migrating to the Grand Palais for a week devoted to photography, the Jeu de Paume invited artists, gallery owners and collectors to gather around its table for an exceptional dinner. And for good reason, this year the institution overlooking the Jardin des Tuileries had relied on an experience inspired by the five senses. First the view, of course, with the intimate discovery of Albert Renger-Patzsch’s exhibition and an experiential scenography by Marianne Guédin. Hearing then, with Ella Fitzgerald’s rare recording, an immersive sound discovery conceived by Devialet’s engineers. Smell too: Daphne Bugey, perfumer at the Firmenich, revealed the perfume created exclusively for Ali Kazma’s exhibition. Finally, touch and taste were not forgotten with a gastronomic dinner that created the meeting between Japanese cuisine and French tradition – a fusion that we owe to Master Suzuki, chef of the restaurant Kura-Hana Bento. As every year, the funds raised during the Friends’ dinner will help the Jeu de Paume to realize and promote its projects.
