Gala in Honour of Paris Gallery Weekend
On Thursday 25 May, the opening gala of Paris Gallery Weekend took place in partnership with several Parisian institutions. As a privileged partner of this year’s event, the Mobilier National organised a grand dinner in the prestigious Galerie des Gobelins in collaboration with the Comité Professionnel des Galeries d’Art.
This 2023 edition pays special tribute to modern and contemporary art galleries through a rich programme that offers a broad overview of the cultural wealth of the French capital. Through guided tours, meetings with exhibiting artists and curators, workshops, talks and private viewings, the public will have the opportunity to discover this cultural richness. Organised in 7 unique itineraries and a dozen “coup de coeur” itineraries carefully selected by the ambassadors of this edition, visitors have the opportunity to discover the city through the mapped locations. Showcasing over a hundred galleries, it’s a veritable open-air modern and contemporary art fair!
This annual event is key for these galleries, who, thanks to their strong network, have proven to be essential actors in the art world. Marion Papillon, President of the Comité Professionnel des galeries d’art, was joined at the Gala by Hervé Lemoine, Philippe Balaval, Clément Delépine, Cécile Poulin, Antonia Scintilla, Charles Carmignac, Salomé Monpetit, and many others.
