The Villa Noailles Unveils Three New Exhibitions

On March 8th and 9th, the Villa Noailles and its environs kicked off its annual programme with the unveiling of three new exhibitions. We caught up with Jean-Pierre Blanc, director of the art centre, and Pascale Mussard, the institution’s president.

We first discovered Nathalie Du Pasquier’s off-site exhibition “Arrangements 1993-2023”.  The show features several drawings on paper, simply hung on the walls of the l’Hôtel des Arts, an art centre in the heart of Toulon.

Back at the Villa Noailles, we visited the exhibition “Marie-Laure de Noailles peintre”. Curated by Johan Fleury de Witte, this exhibition features works from this patron of the arts, writer and painter, including works influenced by the Surrealist movement. Running parallel, there’s the exhibition  “Habiter avec la mer” by architect Jacques Rougerie, who presents a retrospective of his work through a selection of archives, models, and photographs, curated by MBL Architectes.

Last but not least, we visited Paul Rousteau’s exhibition right before its closing. Entitled “Paul, la plage et les peintres”, this solo show features photographs taken by the French artist during his residency at the Villa Noailles.

During these days, which marked the beginning of a season devoted to arts and design, we met Nathalie du Pasquier, Jacques Rougerie, Jean-Pierre Blanc, Johan Fleury de Witte, Paul Rousteau, Jerome Brunetiere, François Quintin, Daniel Kennedy and Yvon Lambert, among many others.
