“Toute Première Fois” by Egon Lab

On Wednesday 20, Florentin Glémarec and Kevin Nompeix presented their latest collection, “Toute première fois”, at the Elysée Montmartre. Inspired by Pajtim Statovci’s novel The Transitions, which evokes the power of decision and liberation, fulfilment and pleasure, the design duo imagined a collection built around gender deconstruction.

For the very first time, Egon Lab is proposing a new concept of masculinity, free from social constraints and toxic masculinity. It borrows pieces and details from the classic women’s wardrobe such as sequins, transparencies, strapless tops and long skirts. The silhouettes reflect how the duo is having fun thwarting codes through deconstructed denim pieces like cropped jackets and jeans that leave torsos exposed right up to the pubic area. Unapologetic looks that leave flesh exposed, faux-fur bags and XXL necklines are just some of the ways in which Egon Lab blurs the boundaries of gender to redefine the diktats of the fashion world… The house is shaking things up by giving free rein to its thirst for freedom, and we love it!

Maria Bernard, Ahmad Kontar, Jacob Rott, Bilal Hassani, Red Cartier and many others were in attendance.
