The 24th Edition of the Fondation Pernod Ricard Awards

Do You Believe in Ghosts? This is the question that greeted guests at the opening of the 24th Pernod Ricard Foundation Award ceremony. The exhibition, curated by Fernanda Brenner, gathered the work of the 6 artists nominated for the prize.

The question that serves as the title of the 24th Pernod Ricard Foundation Award was borrowed from Ken McMullen’s 1983 film Ghost Dance. French philosopher Jacques Derrida gave an answer to this question, which became the starting point for a critical rehabilitation of the ghost – what some Western researchers defined at the end of the 1990s as the “spectral turn”.

Among the guests attending the ceremony on September 11, we ran into artists Ethan Assouline, Sophie Bonnet-Pourpet, Anne Bourse, Pol Taburet, Eden Tinto Collins and Ana Vaz, who presented their work to the public.
