Holiday Launches its New Issue at Château Voltaire
In terms of hype, it’s a tough call between Holiday magazine and Château Voltaire – which hosted the launch of this new issue. Holiday was born after the war and was printed until 1977, before being reissued in 2014. The original idea was simple: send a writer and a photographer to a specific location and ask them to capture their vision of the place, with no constraints on style, duration or budget. After a thirty-seven-year hiatus, Holiday makes its comeback led by Paris-based artistic director Franck Durand. This new Holiday remains faithful to the spirit of its forebear, both in terms of aesthetics and sense of journalistic adventure, but in a format that also celebrates fashion. Editorials shot by industry-leading photographers, and emerging talents alike, coexist beautifully with the work of today’s top literary voices. And true to its original concept, Holiday still sends contributors afield to produce a portrait of a place that is at once intimate and timeless. Last night, a chic Paris crowd gathered to celebrate this new masterpiece over some wonderful cocktails. We met Franck Durand, Isabel Marant, Alexandre de Betak, Emmanuel Tomasini, Joseph Ghosn, and Buzio Saraiva.
