Gaurav Gupta Unveils a Collection With Spiritual Undertones

Gaurav Gupta’s Spring-Summer 2024 Fashion Show felt like a meditation session. Drawing on spiritual and artistic elements, Gupta expressed through garments his fascination for concepts such as “mudra”, a symbolic gesture formed with the hands, which inspired pieces such as the bronze cast bra.

For his third couture show in Paris, the Indian couturier keeps on drawing upon the rich embroidery tradition of his homeland, while creating a futuristic retro ambience. The mirror and crystal embroidery were inspired by kundalini, symbolising both the energy of divine love and evoking snakeskin found on short jackets and thick dresses. His signature corsetry threads were also revisited, resulting in striking patterns such as a sky-blue wave on a black column dress, or a skirt evoking a volcanic eruption.

Gaurav Gupta has expressed his desire to explore new creative paths in response to an increasingly diverse international customer base. This development reflects his desire to explore the boundaries of fashion and continue to surprise his public with innovative and powerful designs.

Among the stars in attendance at the show were Bella Thorne, Flora Coquerel, Miss Fame, Saint John, Jaydena, Pascal K Douglas, Léonie Hann to name but a few.
