Kaleidoscopes – Cuba: Contemporary Perspectives at GALLERIA CONTINUA

From June 23rd to October 20th, GALLERIA CONTINUA offers us the opportunity to dive into Cuba’s contemporary art scene with “Kaleidoscopes – Cuba: Contemporary Perspectives”. Spreading over the seven thousand square meters of the gallery’s space in Les Moulins, this group exhibition gathers the work of 25 artists, alongside major works by Michelangelo Pistoleto, thus offering a rich and diverse overview of the Cuban artistic landscape. Curated by Laura Salas Redondo and Niurma Pérez Zerpas, the guiding thread of the exhibition is inspired by a key concept of Julio Cortázar’s novel “Hopscotch”, that is the idea of a mosaic in perpetual transformation. We are thus invited to discover the uniqueness and complexity of contemporary Cuban art through glimpses of the different narratives making up each artist’s approach, which are revealed to us through a kaleidoscopic prism.

During the inauguration, held on June 23rd, we had the pleasure of meeting the curators, Laura Salas Redondo and Niurma Pérez Zerpas, alongside exhibited artists like Yaima  Carrazana, Ariamna Contino et Alex Hernández, Raúl Cordero, Carlos Martiel, Osvaldo González, José Yaqué, and Michel Pérez Pollo.
