For NOW!, art and everyday life meet at Sotheby’s
“Art meets everyday life” is the watchword of NOW!, the auction organized by Sotheby’s. Yesterday, the event celebrated its fourth edition with the inauguration of its pre-sale exhibition, organized this year in association with We Do Not Work Alone, the publishing house for artists’ objects founded by the trio Anna Klossowski, Charlotte Morel and Louise Grislain. After the success of its previous editions, NOW! exhibited nearly 300 lots ranging from contemporary works of art to design pieces and photographs to African art. The scenography shifted the lines between art and the everyday object, and it was curated by We Do Not Work Alone (in an event organized by Shake Agency). What makes the success of NOW! in addition to its sharp selection (Andy Warhol, Erwin Olaf, Robert Mapplethorpe, Marc Newson, Jean Prouvé or Hiroshi Sugimoto), is its openness to all types of collectors, from the most experienced to the beginners.
