Evening of the Meurice Prize for Contemporary Art 2014
Faithful to its heritage and rooted in the art of its time, the Parisian palace has rewarded for the seventh consecutive year an emerging artist from the French scene to help him make himself known abroad. This prize, endowed with 20,000 euros, was awarded jointly to Mark Geffriaud for his project “Sketches” and to the gb agency gallery last Thursday evening.
The jury, which brought together 14 local players, including the sponsor of the Jean-Charles de Castelbajac initiative, the winner of the 2013 edition Neil Beloufa, the director general of the establishment Franka Holtmann, the collector Maryvonne Pinault, Jean de Loisy… rewarded this project among more than 50 submissions. And to award this prize, the Meurice teams have put the small dishes in the big by imagining an evening of high gastronomy placed under the sign of new technologies. On the menu: High Tech cocktails by Chef barman William Oliveri, a lot of (beautiful) people, a preview exhibition, a disco ball between the pampilles and surprising dishes straight out of the starry kitchens of the Palace.
Note that the exhibition of the works of the six finalists – Hicham Berrada (kamel mennour), Mark Geffriaud (gb agency), Voluspa Jarpa (gallery mor.carpenter), Charlotte Moth (Marcelle Alix), Eloise Hawser (Balice Hertling), Enrique Ramírez (Michel Rein) – will be open until 26 October, and is part of the FIAC VIP course.
