La Société des amis des musées d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie hosts its annual Gala
Monday evening, the Société des musées d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie hosted their annual charity Gala. The Society has invited prominent art lovers, professionals and dignitaries for a private viewing of the exhibition “Edvard Munch. A Poem of Life, Love and Death ».
The Norwegian painter, behind the very well-known 1893 painting The Scream, is being honored with an unprecedented retrospective that bring together more than one hundred of his works, paintings and drawings; a great testimony to the diversity of his art practices. The vernissage was followed by a gala dinner at the Musée d’Orsay.
The funds raised each year during this unique evening are allocated to the purchase of new works of art for the museums’ collections.
