Preview of the New Season’s Programme at Chaillot – Théâtre National de la Danse

While music takes centre stage on June 21 in Paris, it was dance that got the spotlight at the Palais de Chaillot on Tuesday. The prestigious cultural institution, the only French theatre whose project is entirely built around this practice, celebrated the new season with a preview of its 2023-24 programme. With shows, screenings, performances, workshops and concerts on the agenda, Chaillot is a genuine meeting point for the arts. Organised by choreographer Rachid Ouramdane, director of Chaillot since April 2021, in association with the Yes We Camp collective and Bande de Cheffes, the evening featured performances by Mehdi Kerkouche and Malik Djoudi, choreographer Johanna Faye, a reading by Kery James, a Voguing performance by Yanis Khelifa, and dance performances by Lora Joudkaite and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. A sneak peek into the rich programme to come, which is dedicated to all forms of dance and will highly a different region of the world each month. Additionally, every Saturday the venue will be transformed by ephemeral architecture thanks to the Yes We Camp collective.
