Daniel Templon becomes an Officer of the National Order of the Legion of Honour

While 2021 was still a challenging year for the culture industry, it was a milestone for Daniel Templon. This week, the French gallery owner received his insignia of Officer in the Order of the Legion of Honor from the Minister of Culture Roselyne Bachelot during a ceremony held at the Hotel Le Meurice. An major figure of international contemporary art, Daniel Templon founded his gallery in 1966 at the age of 21. Today he represents some thirty international artists of all generations, including David LaChapelle, Chiharu Shiota, Prune Nourry and Pierre & Gilles, and has exhibited works by the greatest names such as Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Helmut Newton, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Raymond Hains… Here’s a look back in pictures at the ceremony which took place in the presence of major actors of contemporary art such as Nathalie Obadia, Jérôme Neutres or Serge Lasvignes, and artists Omar Ba, Abdelkader Benchamma and Robin Kid.
