Blumarine’s New Wings
Frivolous, light, enchanting, and highly seductive. The Blumarine woman wears new wings, those of an angel who has come from afar and can be both pure and sinful. These are human angels with human urges and the silhouettes play with this duality. They exude a strong sense of sexy, a distinct look that has become the signature of the brand led by Nicola Brognano.
“I wanted to emphasize the luminous sense of lightness of the summer season. Clear, limpid colours; slim silhouettes. The body is tight-wrapped, but it moves freely. Sensuality is expressive, strong, modern, natural, with no romanticism”, said the creative director. Blumarine’s new angels wear very fine catsuits accentuated by swirling butterfly cut-outs. Sheer PVC bustiers, corsets and ultra-short dresses are studded with crystals or matte resin rhinestones. Sinuous draped tunics wrap the body with plays of bows and sashes. Airy blouses in lightweight georgettes open in cascades of raw-hem ribbons. Short Capri pants in soft gold leather are tightened by metal chains with butterfly buckles.
Mariacarla Boscono closed the show in a dress that doesn’t leave much to the imagination, while on the front row, we saw friends of the house such as Tiffany Hsu, Emma Brooks, Niki Wu Jie and Bad Gyal.
