“Porticus”, it is the first exhibition in France of Artur Lescher, Brazilian artist and major figure of abstract art of Latin America. In the 1500 square metres of the Palais d’Iena, headquarters of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, the artist’s in situ works dialogue with Auguste Perret’s classical architecture. A proposal by exhibition curator Matthieu Poirier, produced with the support of Galeria Nara Roesler (São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and New York) to be discovered during the FIAC from 17 to 25 October 2017. While Paris vibrates to the rhythm of contemporary art, Artur Lescher succeeds artists like Antony Gormley, Francesco Vezzoli or Carlos Cruz-Diez and shows here his “capsules full of attributes”. An aesthetics of the drawing supported by the legendary Julio Le Parc (he comes from Argentina), Emmanuel Perrotin, just like Xavier Veilhan who represents France at the Venice Biennale until the end of November.
