Sustainable Arts and Crafts by Aigner

Material’s natural beauty, simplicity, and functionality. Aigner returns to Milan Fashion Week with a Spring-Summer 24 collection that aims at raising awareness about the impact of fashion and design production. Inspired by the artistic dimension of the late 19th-century Arts and Crafts movement, the German brand calls for a return to craftsmanship and the use of high-quality materials of natural and sustainable origin. The floral element is the collection’s guiding thread, and the colour palette derived from this universe permeates the looks enhancing their sculptural, oversized, and fluid structures. One of the collection’s main motifs is the “Honeysuckle”, a flower inspired by the works of William Morris, one of the founders of the Arts and Crafts movement, transposed into the garments in a multitude of forms. On the catwalk, looks are composed of suits with crop tops and soft, low-waisted trousers, but also leotards combined with oversized leather trench coats, jackets and miniskirts. The show also featured Aigner’s signature bag, the Cybill Bag, both the Stretch and Stretch Mini versions in different finishes: hammered leather with gold and silver metallic studs and shiny leather with a crocodile effect. This is a return to craftsman and attention to detail, accomplished by removing all superfluous to focus on the essential. Aigner’s big comeback to Milan Fashion Week was attended by celebrities like top model Alessandra Ambrosio, Caro Daur, Ola Farahat, Leonie H and many others.
